"ISLAM" MESSAGE OF HOPE
BY
Dr. Arafat El Ashi

Say: "O my servants who have transgressed against their souls: Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

  • So turn to your Lord in repentance and bow to His will before the penalty comes on you after that, you shall not be helped.
  • And follow the best of the courses revealed to you from your Lord, before the penalty comes on you while you perceive not.
  • Lest one soul should say: Ah: Woe to me in that I neglected my duty towards Allah, and was but among those who mocked.
  • Or lest it should say: If only Allah had guided me I should certainly have been among the righteous.
  • Or lest it should say when it actually sees the penalty: If only I had another chance I should certainly be among those who do good.
  • The reply will be: Nay, but there came to you My Signs, and you rejected them, you were naughty and became one of the disbeliever.
  • On the day of Judgement you will see those who told lies against Allah their faces will be black. Is there not in Hell an abode for the naughty?
  • But Allah will deliver the righteous to their places of salvation. No evil shall touch them, nor shall they grieve. (Surah 39, Verses 53-61)

By the Glorious Morning Light.

  • And by the Night when it is still.
  • Your Guardian-Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased.
  • And verily the Hereafter will be better for you than the present.
  • And soon will your Guardian-Lord give you (that wherewith) you shall be well-pleased.
  • Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter (and care)?
  • And He found you wandering, and He gave you guidance?
  • And He found you in need, and made you independent?
  • Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness.
  • Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard).
  • But the Bounty of your Lord rehearse and proclaim: (Surah 93, Verses 1-11)

Behold! Verily on the friends of Allah there is no fear, nor shall they grieve. Those who believe and (constantly) guard against evil.

  • For them are Glad Tidings, in the life of the Present and in the Hereafter: no change can there be in the Words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme Felicity.
    (Surah 10, Verses 62-64)

Have We not expanded your breast?

  • And removed from you your burden?
  • The which did gall your back?
  • And raised high the esteem (in which) you (are held)?
  • So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief.
  • Therefore, when you are free (from your immediate task), still labour hard.
  • And to your Lord turn (all) your attention. (Surah 94, Verses 1-8)

Verily Allah will defend (from ill) those who believe: verily, Allah loves not any that is a traitor to faith, or shows ingratitude. (Surah 22, verse 38)

Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own souls). (Surah 13, Verse 11)

But if they turn away, Say: Allah suffices me: there is no god but He: on Him is my trust, He is the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme: (Surah 9, verse 129)

And O you believers: Turn you all together towards Allah, that you may attain Bliss. (Surah 24, Verse 31)

Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, verily to him will We give a new life, that is good and pure, and We will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions. (Surah 16, Verse 97)

O My servants who believe: Truly, spacious is My Earth: Therefore serve Me Alone: (Surah 29, Verse 56)

The Believers must (eventually) win through.

  • Those who humble themselves in their prayers.
  • Who avoid vain talk.
  • Who are active in deeds of charity.
  • Who abstain from sex.
  • Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond or (the captives) whom their right hands possess, for (in this case) they are free from blame.
  • But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors.
  • Those who faithfully observe their trusts and covenants.
  • And who (strictly) guard their prayers.
  • These will be the heirs.
  • Who will inherit Paradise: They will dwell therein (forever). (Surah 23, Verses 1-11)

O you who believe: Fear Allah, And (always)say a word directed to the Right. That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you sins: He that obeys Allah and His Messenger has already attained the highest Achievement. (Surah 33, Verses 70-71)

Behold, Luqman said to his son by way of instruction: "O my son: Join not in worship (others) with Allah: for false worship is indeed the highest wrongdoing."

  • And We have enjoined on man (to be good) to his parents: in travail upon travail did his mother bear him, and in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command), Show gratitude to Me and to your parents; to Me is (the final) Goal.
  • But if they strive to make you join in worship with Me things of which you have no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration), and follow the way of those who turn to Me (in love): In the End the return of you all is to Me, and will tell you the truth (and meaning) of all that you did.
  • "O my son!" (said Luqman), if there be (but) the weight of a mustard seed and it were (hidden) in a rock, or (anywhere) in the heavens or on earth. Allah will bring it forth: for Allah understands the finer mysteries, (and) is well-acquainted (with them).
  • "O my son! Establish regular prayer, enjoin what is just, and forbid what is wrong; and bear with patient constancy whatever betide you; for this is firmness (of purpose) in (the conduct of) affairs."
  • "And swell not your cheek (for pride) at men, nor walk in insolence through the earth: for Allah loves not any arrogant boaster."
  • And be moderate in your pace. And lower your voice; for the harshest of sounds, without doubt, is the braying of the ass. (Surah 31, Verses 13-19)

And the servants of Allah Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility and when the ignorant address them, they say "Peace".

  • Those who spend the night in adoration of there Lord prostrate and standing.
  • Those who say: "Our Lord: Avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous."
  • Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in."
  • Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes).
  • Those who invoke not, with Allah, any other god, nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred, except for just cause, nor commit fornication, and any that does this (not only) meets punishment.
  • (But) the Penalty on the Day of Judgement will be doubled to him, and he will dwell therein in ignominy.
  • Unless he repents, believes and works righteous deeds, for Allah will change the evil of such persons into good, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most merciful.
  • And whoever repents and does good has truly turned to Allah with an (acceptable) conversion.
  • Those who witness on falsehood and if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance).
  • Those who, when they are admonished with the Signs of their Lord, droop not down at them as if they were deaf or blind.
  • And those who pray, "Our Lord! Grant unto us lives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous."
  • Those are the ones who will be rewarded with the highest place in heaven, because of their patient constancy: therein shall they be met with salutations and peace.
  • Dwelling therein, how beautiful an abode and place of rest!
  • Say (to the Rejecters)! "My Lord is not uneasy because of you if you call not on Him.
  • "But you have indeed rejected (Him), and soon will come the inevitable (punishment)!" (Surah 25, Verses 63-77)

Abu Zarr relates that the Holy prophet (PBUH) said: "Allah, the Lord of honour and glory, says: One who does one good deed shall be rewarded ten times or more, and one who does one evil deed shall be punished for only one sin, or he may be forgiven; and one who comes to Me by a hand's breadth I shall approach him an arm's and one who advances towards Me by an arm's length, I shall approach him the length of two arms; and one who meets Me with an earthful of sins, provided he has not associated anybody with Me, I shall meet him with an equal amount of pardon. (Narrated by Muslim)

Jabir relates that a bedouin came to the Holy prophet (PBUH) and said: O Messenger of Allah, what are the two things which make Heaven or Hell necessary? He replied ‘One who dies associating nobody with Allah, will enter Paradise, and one who dies associating anybody with Allah will enter the Hell.’ (Narrated by Muslim)

Abu Hurayrah states the Holy prophet said: "When Allah created the creatures He wrote in the Book which is with Him in the highest heaven: ‘My mercy shall prevail over my anger.’ Another version says: ‘My mercy covers my, and yet another version says: My compassion surpasses my anger.’ (Agreed upon)
